What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. They allow sites to remember information between page loads — such as preferences, an analytics identifier, or whether you have already seen a particular notice. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags. References to "cookies" in this policy cover all of these.

How WTIChart.com uses cookies

WTIChart.com uses cookies for two purposes: to make the site work and to understand how readers use it. The site does not display advertising and does not use advertising cookies. The categories below describe what is in use and who sets them.

1. Strictly necessary cookies

These are required for the site to function. They do things like preserve security state and remember preferences set during a single visit. They cannot be switched off through site settings because the site would not work properly without them. They do not store any information that personally identifies you.

2. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand which articles and charts are useful and how readers move around the site. GA4 sets cookies (commonly named _ga and similar) that record an anonymous identifier, the pages you view, your approximate location based on IP, and the device and browser you use. The data is processed in aggregate and is not used to contact you personally.

You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

3. Embedded chart provider (TradingView)

The interactive charts on WTIChart.com are loaded directly from TradingView. When a chart loads, your browser communicates with TradingView's servers, which may set their own cookies for chart functionality and product analytics under TradingView's Privacy Policy.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can view, control, and delete cookies through your browser settings. The exact steps differ by browser, but you can usually:

Browser-specific guides are available on the official help pages of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is still no consistent industry standard for how DNT signals should be honoured, WTIChart.com does not currently respond to DNT signals. The Google Analytics opt-out add-on described above provides a more reliable way to control analytics tracking.

Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as the technologies we use change. The "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Please review this page periodically.
